Christmas in the United States is beautiful, from the streets full of lights to the different traditions that are preserved. Soon after the Thanksgiving celebrations are over, people prepare for the winter festivities.
This is a list of some traditions that I have seen in the USA:
- Baking Cookies: A tradition in the United States is to make and decorate Christmas cookies, trees, stars, snowmen, boots, and Christmas wreaths.
- Make a gingerbread house: You can make your own gingerbread house or buy a kit to make it. Build your house and cover it with frosting, sprinkles, and gumdrops. You’ll end up with a beautiful creation that tastes good too!
- Stocking guessing game: The whole family tries to guess who the gift is for.
- Wearing an ugly sweater: Christmas can be even more fun by wearing a distinctive “ugly” Christmas sweater.
- Write a Christmas letter.
- Movie Marathon.
- Open gift: Waiting until the 25th always seems like a long time, all gifts go under the tree.
- Santa dust: This magical artifact helps Santa not lose his house and always be present on his journey.
- Decorate the Christmas tree: Decorating it with lights, spheres, ribbons, and stars, Christmas trees are one of the most traditional symbols of the Christmas season.
- Take the same picture every year.
- Spend time with the people you love
